Results are now available from Performance Monitoring and Accountability 2020 (º£½Ç»»ÆÞ2020)’s first nutrition survey in Burkina Faso and Kenya. Data from the º£½Ç»»ÆÞ2020 Nutrition Survey enable policymakers and health programs to monitor nutritional status and nutrition intervention coverage and impacts in the community setting. The º£½Ç»»ÆÞ2020 Nutrition Survey is the first survey to rapidly generate actionable data on nutrition interventions at the national level in Burkina Faso and in Kenya.

The nutrition surveys gathered facility-level data and household-level data. In addition to gathering data on important existing indicators, the survey is developing and testing new measures of nutrition intervention coverage for key populations. New indicators include mothers’ exposure to promotional and counseling messages for breastfeeding and child feeding, diet diversity and consumption of micronutrients, and participation in supplementary feeding programs.

The International Centre for Reproductive Health-Kenya and the Institut Supérieur des Sciences de la Population in Burkina Faso implemented the surveys in each respective country with support from the º£½Ç»»ÆÞ2020 team at the Bill & Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health, in collaboration with experts in maternal, child and nutrition health at the Institute for International Programs and the Center for Human Nutrition at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
